What is the Press Ganey Score?

What is the Press Ganey Score?

Press Ganey – a global organization dedicated to improving patient experiences in healthcare facilities across the world – has their own scoring system for determining how hospitals are dedicated to enhancing a patient’s experience from the moment they enter a healthcare facility until long after they leave.  The ultimate goal of the Press Ganey Score was to make it easier for hospitals to understand the patient experience so that solutions could be implemented to improve and address any issues. The Press Ganey Score uses data technology, validated survey methods, and rigorous testing methods to ensure that the most accurate patient experience is being reflected.  The Press Ganey Score was implemented back in 1985 to some resistance; many medical professionals felt scared that an organization was carefully analyzing the patient experience.  Today, many medical facilities understand the importance of the Press Ganey Score; however, some critics claim that too many hospitals are focused on improving their score, rather than improving the actual patient experience. Onyx Healthcare can help hospitals and medical facilities that want to accomplish both of the above goals.  As the leading manufacturer of patient-focused medical devices, our patient portals are designed to provide entertainment and information while making it easier for nurses and doctors to perform their jobs.  Our Patient Engagement unit features a suite of infotainment medical devices that are meant to enhance a patient’s experience throughout every touch point in a hospital.  Our medical devices succeed in keeping patients entertained, providing them with necessary information about their treatment, and even making it possible for them to fill their prescriptions via a digital pharmacy. Our patient engagement...
Onyx Healthcare Meets All HIMSS EMRAM Stages

Onyx Healthcare Meets All HIMSS EMRAM Stages

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is a global non-profit organization that’s dedicated to implementing standardized information technology requirements in hospitals around the world.  The main mission of HIMSS is to optimize healthcare sharing regardless of where a hospital might be located. For example, if a patient visits two separate hospitals within a year, both hospitals can safely and securely access the same records if they follow the same HIMSS requirements. In order to facilitate this standardization, HIMSS has implemented the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM), which uses data methodology and advanced algorithms to score hospitals on their use of electronic medical records (EMRs), as well as their capacity for implementing these EMRs.  The model is scored on an eight-stage model (0-7); 7 demonstrates that a hospital has made maximum moves toward a paperless environment.  There are many reasons why a healthcare facility may want to move toward a paperless environment, including: Fewer human errors associated with lost paperwork and unreadable handwriting; Better security, as paper, is vulnerable to both internal and external risk; and Easier to share patient records with other hospital facilities without incurring risk. Electronic medical records are also easier to maintain, require less storage within hospital facilities, and can permanently follow the patient around for the duration of his or her life.  Given these benefits, it’s no wonder more hospitals are ready to pursue that coveted stage 7 ranking (fact – only 4.8% of hospitals around the world qualify for this stage!). Onyx Healthcare – the leading provider of innovative medical devices – is one of the few providers that...
Onyx Healthcare Vs. the Competition: How Does Our Mobile Nursing Station Stack Up?

Onyx Healthcare Vs. the Competition: How Does Our Mobile Nursing Station Stack Up?

So you’re in the market for a new mobile nursing station – congratulations!  A mobile nursing station is a crucial first step in easing the burden of delivering exceptional care for patients.  With the right mobile nursing station, nurses can easily transport their workstations to various rooms without undergoing physical strain or effort.  Additionally, a high-quality nursing station makes it possible for medical professionals to enjoy the following benefits: They’re easily moveable across multiple floors and departments; Medical professionals can run patient queries within seconds; Nurses can quickly get in touch with doctors in other departments; and There are fewer physical demands placed on the body. Of course, not all mobile nursing stations are made equal.  Some mobile nursing station designers claim to build a lighter, more durable station; however, when compared to Onyx Healthcare’s design, the competition fails to stack up. To help prove that point, let’s take a look at how Onyx Healthcare’s mobile nursing station compares to the competition: Battery Run Time: Our competitors offer mobile stations with six-hour battery run time; our mobile nursing station blows them out of the water with 8-10-hour battery run time. Charging Time: Our competition takes 5+ hours to charge 4 batteries, while it takes our mobile nursing station 3.5 hours to charge 6 batteries. Cleaning: Our competition features upside inserts, while Onyx features a side load with gasket to prevent leakage. Other Onyx mobile nursing station advantages include a lightweight battery, lightweight computer that’s easy to move around, 6th generation i7 CPU, fanless silent unit, integrated webcam, and even a reading light for examining records in the dark. Why Is Medical Certification So Important?

Why Is Medical Certification So Important?

Ever wonder just how rigorously medical devices are tested before they end up in your doctor’s office or hospital? In order for a device to be used within a hospital or medical setting, it must meet or exceed standards and regulations regarding safety, effectiveness, system integration, and patient experience.  Each medical certification is signified with a specific code, which allows medical professionals and government officials to quickly ascertain how a medical device functions and what requirements it has met. Onyx Healthcare – the leading solution for medically focused computer design manufacturing – is rigorously tested and certified by major government entities, including the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the International Standards Organization (ISO).   These certifications ensure that our medical devices are continuously providing the best quality care while streamlining functionality in any hospital or clinic.
